Halcyon CIC is a small, local independent provider of clinical psychology and animal assisted therapy. We provide services to children, young people and their families living in Worcestershire and the surrounding areas (including Warwickshire, Gloucestershire and The Cotswolds). We aim to improve the well-being of young people and their families by providing high quality, friendly and professional psychological assessment and therapy.
We have a strong belief that animals can offer therapeutic benefits and can enhance and complement the traditional therapy provided by a qualified and registered mental health practitioner. Our animals can be seen as co-therapists and their involvement goes beyond simply stroking or holding the animals, although this is of course beneficial and enjoyable too! Animal welfare is a core part of our philosophy.
Appointments are available at our consulting rooms located in a rural setting, yet just 5-10 minutes from Junction 7 of the M5.
We appreciate that every family is unique and work in a flexible, child/young person-centred and creative way to try to help young people and families overcome current behavioural or psychological difficulties.
Our collaborative working can involve meeting with families together or parents alone. Young people may also find it helpful to have some time without their parents, to think through difficulties and find ways forward.
We are a Community Interest Company (CIC) meaning we are not run for profit and we reinvest any profits with the aim of supporting the local community.
Thank you for all your wonderful work today for our Health and Wellbeing Day. The children loved your workshop and learnt so much about caring for animals, and themselves. It truly was appreciated. Worcestershire First School
